Can I Stay Friends With My Ex-Boyfriend?

Dear Advice Girl,

I really EXTREMELY want to be friends with my ex. But I think I hurt him really badly. I don't know what to do, and I'm desperate!

Dear Twilight Morning,

It's super unfair to try to push your ex into friendship mode right after dumping him. You might be ready for it, but he still needs time to heal.

Leave him alone. And be aware that he might totally hate you and not want to speak to you for a while. It doesn't mean he's being a jerk - it just means he's doing what he has to do in order to get over you.

After some time has passed, he might be willing to try the friend thing. But it's up to him to make that call, not you.

same thing happened to me. i kept trying to be friends with my ex and i could tell he wasnt comfortable with it so i backed off. after awhile we started talking again and now hes like a brother to me

its ok if he wants to be just friends. but dont bug him if he doesn't want to be your friend. that will make him think that you're crazy!

you should try and be friends because obviously a relationship didnt work. when the two of you see each other its awkward, the best thing to do is become friends or even acquaintances to break the ice a little. but force him into a friendship. bring up the topic and allow him time to think if he agrees with that decision.

well if yu have not tried to talk to him then maybe its the time yu try he may shock yu and he may want to be friends to and tell him yur sorry for hurtn him yu didnt want to but yu jus wanted to be happy alone or what ever the reason was yu broke up wit him be honest to him tell him how yu really feel and ask him to be friends
