Can I still talk to my ex?

Dear Advice Girl,

I started dating this guy while I was on vacation. But he lives too far away, so we broke up after the trip!

Now I'm dating someone new. He makes me sooo happy and I love him more than anything in the world. But I've been emailing my ex. I do want to get over him, but I still wanna talk to him! How do I make that work??

Dear Stuck In The Middle,

You can’t. If you want to get over him, you have to stop talking to him. Absolutely and forever (at least until you’re over him).

Don’t worry about hurting his feelings – just tell him you’re trying to make things work with your new boyfriend. Then delete him from your address book.

And if you go on vacation any time soon, hands off the locals! You and your boyfriend love each other – don’t forget it.
