He's a jerk, but I still miss him!

Dear Advice Girl,

I recently broke up with my boyfriend because he cussed way to much, was way too sexual and was plain out rude to my friends. But I miss talking to him. He was a great guy when it was just us two talking, but when other people joined in he acted like we weren’t together. What should I do? I want him back but he won’t answer his phone and he won’t talk to me.

There’s no point in dating a guy you can’t even bring around your friends. Throw in a potty mouth and a beastly sex drive and you have yourself a triumvirate of bad boyfriend.

The fact that he was a good guy part of the time doesn’t mean he’s right for you – it just proves that even the junkiest people might have some redeeming qualities. But come on. Would you hold onto a refrigerator that spoiled all your food except for your Swiss cheese? No way - you’d kick it to the curb where it belongs. So do the same to your ex and pick yourself up a new appliance. Er, boyfriend.
