We Broke Up Over Spilled Coffee!

Dear Advice Girl,

Even though my girlfriend and I broke up over spilled coffee, we still say that we love each other until death do us part. Is there a chance we will get back together?

Dear Calvin,

I wouldn't count on that "death do us part" thing playing out. If your relationship can't survive a little coffee spill, then it won't stand much of a chance when a mortgage, an illness or a couple of kids come knocking.

Since you two sound so incompatible, I'm gonna suggest that you don't get back together. You might feel love towards each other right now, but it'll wear off with a little time and distance.

And when it does, you'll get a chance to experience more relationships - ones that hopefully survive a couple more spills than your last one.
