She stares at me - does she like me?

Dear Advice Girl,

If me and a girl always catch each other staring at each other, doesn’t that mean we like each other and should I ask her out?

The old staring trick, eh? If you keep catching her staring at you, yes, it probably means she likes you back. Unless, of course:

• When you say, “We keep staring at each other,” what you mean is, “I keep staring at her until she finally looks over at me.” That doesn’t mean she likes you – it just means that she’s paranoid you’re going to pounce on her.

• You’re always drawing attention to yourself, forcing everyone to stare at you. Attention-seeking behavior includes: body paint, clucking like a chicken, audible burps and being a boy who wears girl jeans.

If none of that’s true and she’s still checking you out, then let’s add some fuel to this romance already. First step: quit staring and start talking.
