8 signs your crush likes you back!

I like this guy at school A LOT. I want to ask him out, but I'm scared! Is there a way to tell if he likes me back?

Dear Jessica,

Funny you should ask! I was just in the middle of putting together my list of the Top 8 Signs Your Crush Likes You Back. If four or more of these are true, he's totally into you:

1. You catch him looking at you. Of course, this only counts if you haven't been staring at him for the past hour.
   
   
2. He wants to talk to you. Even a shy guy will text you back or send you IM's if he likes you. Bonus points if he calls you up out of the blue, just to talk.
   
   
3. He brags about himself. It means he's trying to prove himself to you. Yeah, it's kind of pathetic...but if you like him back, then I'm sure you won't mind.
   
   
4. He laughs at your jokes - even if they're not funny. If he likes you, he'll be charmed by even the dumbest stuff that comes out of your mouth.
   
   
5. He gets into stuff you like. Is your non-emo crush suddenly downloading your favorite Death Cab album? It's probably 'cause he wants to have something to talk to you about, or he wants to prove that you guys are totally made for each other.
   
   
6. His friends tease him about you. If they know he likes you, they won't be able to keep their traps shut when you're around. So watch them closely.
   
   
7. He treats you differently than other girls. His "I like you" vibes don't mean anything if he flirts the same way with everyone. (If he's a notorious flirt, then he'll act shyer and more genuine around the girl he really likes.)
   
   
8. You score big on this quiz.

A warning, though: just 'cause a guy likes you, it doesn't mean he's looking for a girlfriend. If that's the case, then don't settle for less than a relationship - just move on and find a new crush. Friends with benefits is almost always a mess.
