Actually there are people who are "vampires". It's a disease called V5. It's a mixture between AIDS and a cold. It's when there is a defect in your blood and you don't get enough iron so you need to drink blood. You're also a little bit stronger than regular humans. And YES, you can pass the disease to other people (I don't know how). So if your boyfriend says he's a vampire, you should probably believe him.
