5 Places to Find a Boyfriend

Dear Advice Girl,

I'm so, so sick of being single and I need to get a boyfriend this summer. The only problem is I don't know any guys. Where can I find one to be my boyfriend??

Dear Marley,

You don't need a boyfriend, you know. Summers as a single girl are pretty magical, too - independence, zero stress, and totally monumental adventures with friends.

But since boyfriends are fun, too, and since looking for one can be just as fun as snagging one, here's my list of the Five Best Places to Find a Boyfriend (Summer Edition):

1. At a summer job. Dating at work is usually a no-no (it leads to super messy breakups), but if you're only gonna be at your job for a couple of months, you've got nothing to lose. Plus, it's hard not to bond with a guy while you're mopping the floor together.
   
   
2. Out with your friends. Organize trips with friends to the beach, music festivals, county fairs and all those other fun summer spots. Then take turns starting convos with the cute guys you see out there.
   
   
3. Volunteering. Pick a place that interests you, and the guys you'll meet will already have something in common with you.
   
   
4. At a study program. See if any nearby colleges offer summer programs for teens - they're usually packed with interesting, ambitious guys who desperately need a study break with a cute girl. Bonus: even if you don't score a guy, you'll score some college credit.
   
   
5. Out with that same pool of dudes you've known forever. Oh, come on, don't roll your eyes. Sometimes you need to see them outside of school to notice their true boyfriend potential. If you see some familiar male faces this summer, chat them up and see what happens.
