Am I ready to marry my boyfriend?

My boyfriend is ready to take it to the next step. By that I mean marriage.

I feel like this is all going too fast. Should I slow down? We've been dating for 2 years already. I don’t think I’m ready for commitment. Am I?

Your guy wants to take things further? Well, so what? You don't. If only one person made the decisions, it wouldn’t be a relationship – it'd be a dictatorship. (Well, a dictatorship with benefits.) You're not dating Kim Jong-il, are you? So quit acting like it.

Relationships only move as fast as you want them to. Don't let this one speed ahead of you. That goes for every step you don’t want to take: marriage, hooking up, going out for chili dogs instead of Italian. Quash your guy's marriage plans before you end up with something you never wanted in the first place.
