How Can We Stay Together?

Dear Advice Girl,

My boyfriend moved across the country from Hawaii to Minnesota. We're trying to stay together but don't know how to keep in contact. He doesn't have a phone and he can't get on the internet. Any ideas?

Dear Cecelia,

Sorry to break the bad news, but your boyfriend isn't gonna be your boyfriend for long.

People who want to reach you can always find a way. Even if your guy moved in with his Amish uncle or something, he could still trek over to the library to chat online. Since he's not doing that, it means that his heart isn't in this relationship anymore.

Don't despair. Long distance relationships are really hard and painful. You're better off taking a break from your boyfriend until you can live near each other again (if you even still like him by then).

Tell your guy you understand what he's feeling, and that you think you both should start seeing other people. That is, if you can even get him on the phone.
