Signs That a Guy Is Flirting With You!

What are some signs that a guy is flirting with you? My friends always say I'm totally oblivious.

Dear Taylor,

Girls can be way too modest for their own good. Even when guys flirt in crazy obvious ways, girls sometimes refuse to believe that they really like them.

Wake up and look for any of these signs when a guy's talking to you. They're clues he's being more than just nice:

1. He looks at you a lot. Make eye contact with him and see what he does. If he can't look away, he probably thinks you're cute. (Note: if he stares at one of those body parts they can't show on network TV, smack him and tell him to quit it.)
   
   
2. He stands up straight. When you approach him, see if he fixes his posture and puffs up his chest. If he does, he's subconsciously showing you what a strong, worthwhile mate he is.
   
   
3. He brags. You might think his ten-minute rant about his amazing fantasy football team is totally obnoxious (and it is), but it's also his unconscious way of proving himself to you.
   
   
4. He has trouble making eye contact. Yeah, it's the complete opposite of sign #1, but it means he's nervous around you. Which is a sign he might like you.
   
   
5. He compliments you. It sounds obvious - but the last time some guy told you he liked your sweater, did you say "thank you" or did you roll your eyes and assume he was joking? If you like him, thank him for the compliment and throw one back at him.
   
   
6. He touches your arm. This is a major body language hint that he's into you. Really, any kind of touching is. But if he touches you in a way you don't like, kindly refer to sign #1.
   
   
7. Finally, if he teases you and makes up inside jokes for you two to share, it might be his way of getting close to you without risking having a serious convo.

There you have it. But remember what I always say: just 'cause a guy flirts with you doesn't mean he wants to date you.

Flirt back if you want, but be realistic. If you never hear from him again, he was just into the thrill of the chase. (Yes, you're allowed to be flattered anyway.)
