Did I ruin my chances with him?

Dear Advice Girl,

There’s this really cute guy at my school. Unfortunately he has NOOO classes with me.

Today I asked him, “If I asked you out, would you say yes?” He didn’t answer. He just said, “uhhmmm...” and his friends smiled, and one of them shouted, “yes!” I didn’t want to look like a freak so I just walked off.

I don’t know what I should do!

Dear Stuck,

Sorry, but you’ve already blown this one. You’ve made two of the biggest crush mistakes you can make:

• You talked to him about personal stuff in front of his friends. Those convos should always be one-on-one. He’ll never admit to anything while his friends are there, and you run the risk of getting teased to death.
  
  
• You asked him a totally awkward question that made you seem insecure and immature. You would’ve been better off just talking to him normally, getting to know him better, and giving him a chance to like you back.

Now that things are all screwy, there’s not a whole lot you can do to fix it. He knows you like him, he doesn’t like you back, and he’ll probably look at you a little funny from now on.

The best you can do is try to act normal around him. And if he talks to you, act like your sweet, adorable self. After a while he might learn to like you after all.
