Meanest thing you can do to a friend?

Dear Advice Girl,

I like my friend’s boyfriend. He found out, and he told me that if he wasn’t dating her then he would go out with me.

My main question is, should I go out with him? My second question is, would this be really mean? Would I be known as a slut for this?

Signed,
   Mikaila

Dear Mikaila,

Um, would it be mean? It's, like, one of the meanest things you can do to a friend. So unless this guy is worth destroying your friendship over (he’s not), run away from him as fast as you can.

As for your “slut” question. If you steal your friend’s boyfriend, your other friends will probably be mad at you and say a lot of mean stuff. Will they use the S-word? Who cares?? It should be bad enough to imagine your all friends turning against you.

Instead of worrying about exactly what your bad reputation will be, just try to avoid getting one altogether. So no boyfriend stealing, okay?

Love,
   The Advice Girl

I'm in a similar situation right now. We've both known him for the same amount of time, but she always made a more open move toward him than I did, which made me not want to tell her about my own feelings for him. And to make things worse, he had liked me for a while, but I had indirectly rejected him (which was understandable, as my bff had pretty much confessed to him). Now they've been together for about two months and I STILL like him. I know I don't want to ruin our friendship but it's impossible to try and avoid them. The best that I'm doing is not saying how I feel to any of my friends (we're all close) and trying to get over him. I try to concentrate on his bad qualities (the ones that I don't like). I wish you the best of luck!

I agree with the opinion loseing your best friend just to win a guy is bull. How would you feel if you were in your friends shoes?

To Cupquake: It's sad that you think boys are worth losing your friends. If the guy left his ex (your friend) just so he can go out with someone else (you) than what make you think he won't do the same in y'all relationship?
