How To Tell Your Friend You Don't Like Him Back

Dear Advice Girl,

I have a really good friend who's a guy, and he is sending me signs that he likes me as more than a friend. I don't feel the same way. How do I tell him that I don't like him without hurting him???

Dear Nanalou,

Don't bring it up with him. Okay? If you do, he'll probably deny it, and no matter what, it'll make him feel totally awkward and embarrassed.

Besides, you may be wrong, and he might not have a crush on you at all. Or he might just have some teeny tiny feelings for you that'll go away on their own.

Drop some hints that you're not interested - like talking about your crush when he's within earshot, or mentioning how darn great it is to be single. He'll take the hint and keep things platonic without losing any face.
