Do You Have a Friend Like This?

Dear Advice Girl,

I have this friend who never calls me to hang out - I always have to call her. I ask her to come places with me but she never invites me anywhere.

I tried talking to her but she doesn't understand. Is she being a good friend, or am I being paranoid and crazy? Help!

Dear Penelope,

Sorry, but, uh...she just doesn't like you as much as you like her.

Don't take it too personally, though. She might not have room in her social life for more close friends, or maybe she's just not feeling the friend vibe as much as you are.

If she's fun and you like hanging with her, there's no reason to stop inviting her out. Just be realistic. She might be a good secondary pal, but she'll never be your BFF.

So go easy on the phone calls. And make sure you keep lots of other friends you can really count on (instead of just one you have to chase after).

I'm that kinda freind. In my case, It's not that we don't like you, it's just that we're, sorta, loners, so we tend to like to stick to ourselves. We do Appresiat when you include us, but we don't always resiprocate the actions, no matter how much we really do like you. don't take it personaly, It's just how we are. I tend to talk more over typed conversations, rather than verbal. If you really want a responce out of your freind, try that.

She could be shy, or she doesn't know how to ask a friend to hang out! If she doesn't like you as much as you like her,just give it time!

Maybe she can't hangout because of personal stuff. Her parents could be abusive and she wants away from them all the time. That's what happened to me, and my friend thought the same thing you do. x.X Don't jump to conclusions.
