My pal's a total biatch...half the time!

Dear Advice Girl,

My friend is really nice, pretty, and cool. But, every other day she is always mad at me.

I am so confused because she doesn’t get mad at her other friends. I don’t even do anything wrong! Should I stay as her friend or not?

Dear Chelsea,

If you’ve been reading my column for a while, you know that I have absolutely zero tolerance for people in your life who bring you down, make you feel bad about yourself or are just general haters. What do we do with people like that? We get rid of them. (In the stop-calling-them-back sense, not in the Mafia sense.)

Okay, I know. That’s hard to do, especially when your friend actually has some redeeming qualities half the time. So I’ll cut you a deal: before you dump her, sit her down and talk to her. See if you can get her to tell you why she’s been giving you the Mr. Hyde treatment for so long. (My guess: jealousy, competitiveness and insecurity. But don’t tell her I said so.) If a good heart-to-heart doesn’t help her change her ways, then it’s time to ditch this hater.
