My friend won't let me get a boyfriend!

Dear Advice Girl,

I like this guy, but my friend doesn't think I should go out with him because it would cut into our friendship. What should I do?

Dear Kay,

Your friend isn't allowed keep you from dating guys, especially for such a selfish reason. So following her rule is totally out of the question.

Go ahead and ask out your crush - but not until you give your friend a reality check. Tell her that you intend to be her friend no matter what happens in your love life, and if she tries to control you, it'll hurt your friendship, not help it.

When you do get a boyfriend, don't spend every waking moment with him. Your social life will be shambles when you're single again, and besides, it'll give your pal a chance to say "I told you so."

usually friends say not date a guy because this guy is bad or something reasonable. But for that silly reason? I'm really disappointed that you call her a friend... Maybe you should start hanging out with other friends for a while... I think you need some times alone. =|

if you want a boyfriend, your friend would be happy for you. Thats just controlling you, so don't let her do that. If she does then shes not really a friend. A friend would support you in everything you do.

Wow, she is insanely jealous. If you want a boyfriend, don't let her stop you. But once you have the boyfriend, you're still going to have to make time for her, or she might like, burn your house down or some craaaaazy thing like that. Haha. Good luck.

Yeah, um. Just ask your crush out. But do it before you tell your friend. But if you're with your crush, also make time for your friends too. If that doesn't work, it's probably because your friend may be jealous that you have a bf and she doesn't. That is, if she's single. Otherwise, just do what I said and friend will eventually get over it if she doesn't like it.

If you really like the guy don't let your friends stop you from doing things that you want to do.. You should just go for it. You don't want to regret it in the long run.. Life is all about taking chances and I think that your friends may not be use to the idea of sharing you but they just have to get use to.. Life is about changing!
