My friends tease me about my crush!

Dear Advice Girl,

My friends always tease me about my crush, even when his friends are right in front of us.

I know that they have good intentions, but I just want them to shut up! When I tell them to stop, they say I’m being rude and unreasonable. What do I do??

Dear Nicole,

Your friends are the ones being rude and unreasonable here. They’re ignoring your feelings - and hurting your chances with your crush - all just to have a little fun.

If they’re nice, good people otherwise, then chalk it up to immaturity and forgive them. (Though you might wanna keep the names of any future crushes to yourself.)

But if this is a pattern with your friends – if they make fun of you for lots of things, and they don’t give you the respect you deserve – then cut them loose and find some new people to hang around. There's no point in staying close to people who are better bullies than they are friends.
