My friends were texting behind my back!

Dear Advice Girl,

Me and my best friends are fighting because they were texting behind my back about my ex, who one of them likes. And I find that slack. Is it slack?

Okay, I'll just assume that “slack” means “lame.”

Just because something happens “behind your back” doesn’t mean that it’s bad. (Right? I mean, almost everything that happens between your friends happens behind your back.)

And it really isn’t the end of the world if one of your pals likes your ex. (I mean, it’s not like she stole him from you, or anything.)

So why are you so upset? Because you’re jealous that she likes him? Because you hate that your friends didn't include you? Don’t be so touchy. You don’t have a right to your ex anymore, and your friends are allowed to text about him without your permission. So ease off on them a little. Anything else would be slack.
