We're crushing on the same guy!

Dear Advice Girl,

I really like this guy at my school, but my best friend likes him too.

At the dance, he only danced with her. So now she's saying she has a better chance with him. But everyone thinks he only danced with her to make her feel better. What should I do?

Dear Desperate,

Dude's crushing on your friend. No guy on earth would dance with a girl the whole night just to make her feel better.

If your friend is decent, she'll do the right thing and leave him alone. That way no one gets him and no one gets hurt. But if she has no respect for BFF-hood, she'll go after him.

If she picks option #2, I hope you'll forgive her and still be her friend. (After all, it sounds like you'd date him, too, if you had the chance.)

In the future, set a rule with your friends: if you both start crushing on the same guy at the same time, then agree to stay away from him. It's the only way to keep some silly boy from ruining your friendship.
