How To Control Your Spit When You Kiss!

Dear Advice Girl,

When my boyfriend and I tongue kiss, sometimes we have problems controlling our saliva...ya know...spit. How do you control it?

Dear Miss Self-Considerate,

Sorry, but if you're gonna French kiss, you're gonna have to cope with some spit. Rather than freak out over it, you'd might as well accept it as part of the deal.

If you're talking about major torrents of saliva, though, there are some ways to minimize the quantities:

1. Take short breaks during your makeout session. Movie kisses make it look like no one ever comes up for air, but in real life, if you kissed for three minutes straight you'd both be covered in drool. Un-lock your lips to look in each other's eyes, smile at each other or peck on each other's necks and ears.
   
   
2. Don't forget to swallow. Even mid-kiss, you can swallow without being too obvious about it. Try it out.
   
   
3. Don't forget to breathe, either. If you come up from each kiss gasping for air, you're probably not paying attention to your saliva quotient.
   
   
4. Don't treat your tongue like it's the captain of the S.S. Makeout. Tongue kisses are the wettest kisses, and while they're fun, they're not the only trick in the book. Mix up your routine with lighter, tongue-less kisses, too.
   
   
5. Don't sweat it. Like I said, spit happens. If your guy can't handle a little wetness, then maybe he's not ready to be a full-time kisser.
