I really want to know who my soulmate is. Can you tell me how to find my soulmate?

Dear D’Andree,

Not really, dude. It’s not something you can Google. In fact, let’s just quit using the word “soulmate” altogether. It makes things sound like one day, you’ll look into some stranger’s eyes and right then and there you’ll know you’re gonna be with him forever.

But that doesn’t happen all that much. And when it does, you might find out in, like, a month that you were totally wrong. Relationships that work are the ones that you put time and effort into, and that’s not something that happens in a split second. And there won’t be any harps playing or birds chirping or anything.

So don’t go looking for a soulmate. Just go looking for a cool person you want to hang out with. After a while of doing that, you might just find a cool person who you’ll be willing to hang out with forever and ever.
