My new boyfriend is a weird nerd!

Dear Advice Girl,

Yeah so my new bf is kind of a nerd. Well, not a nerd but kinda weird, ya know?

Sometimes I’m kind of embarrassed to be with him. Like it gets to a point where I wanna break up with him cuz he’s not my type, but he’s also totally sweet.

Break up with him, okay? It’s not fair to your boyfriend to go around thinking horrible things about him. First off it’s a form of lying, but more importantly, pretty soon those feelings are gonna come out in really cruel ways (like being nasty to him in public or getting mad at him without giving him a reason why).

You probably think you’re doing him a favor by staying with him, but it’s the opposite. Sticking with him is only going to keep him from finding a girl who actually likes his personality. So be mature and break it off. (‘Cause lord knows you’re not mature enough to accept people’s differences.)

Weird nerds = undesirable? I love nerds. I am a nerd. Nerds rock. If you're not a nerd, you'll probably be working for one someday. Please, for future reference, don't label people in such superficial ways. It's ignorant, and it's shallow. Your boyfriend is probably a whole lot of other things than a mere "nerd." If you'd given him a chance, he may have turned out to be a nice, cool, interesting guy. But if this is the way you think and judge people, dump him. You'd be doing him a favor. He deserves a girl who a) likes him for the nerd that he is and b) knows that he's a lot more than just a "weird nerd". In the future, stick to guys you do like, ok? Leave the nerds to the girls who'll appreciate them.

You know Nerds actually turn out to be very rich when they grow up because they go to collage and get mastery degrees. think of bill gates he was a nerd no one liked and then he invented the computer and is now in the top 5 richest people in the world!
